Project Description:

Main House

Self-build project involving the construction of a single storey rear extension and 2 storey side extension to a period terraced property in Ashford, Kent.

A new open-plan kitchen and dining area were created, to provide ample space for family living and entertaining. At first floor level, 2 additional bedrooms have been added, along with an ensuite. The garden had fallen into disrepair under its previous ownership and required clearing before new decking, patio and lawned areas were formed.

Garden Studio

Self-build project to provide a detached office for the practice. Surplus timber framing, concrete blockwork and general building materials from the house extension were used to construct the shell of the studio and new scaffold boards were purchased to provide a cost-effective solution to cladding the building. Painted plywood walls feature internally, to provide a light, textured interior. The construction techniques adopted have been chosen to compliment our skillset as a self-taught ‘Do-it-yourself’ practice.
